We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"We have FortiEDR installed on all our systems. This protects them from any threats.""Fortinet FortiEDR made our clients feel secure and more at ease, knowing that they had an EDR solution that would close the gap in their security posture.""Fortinet has helped free up around 20 percent of our staff's time to help us out.""This is stable and scalable.""Having all monitoring, response, tracking, and mitigation tools in one dashboard provides our analysts and SOC team with a comprehensive view at a glance.""Ability to get forensics details and also memory exfiltration.""I like FortiClient EMS. FortiEDR has a lot of great features like lockdown mode, remote wipes, and encryption. I can set malware outbreak policies and controls for detecting abnormalities. You can also simulate phishing attacks.""It is a scalable solution...The initial setup of Fortinet FortiEDR was straightforward."

"It has an extremely low footprint, so it has got minimum impact on the user end points in terms of CPU and memory usage.""The features we showcase to potential customers are prevention, malware protection, zero-day protection, and application scripting. Vulnerability assessment is another valuable feature.""The most valuable aspects of CrowdStrike Falcon for me are its device observability, identification, and software and OS recognition.""The most valuable feature is the indicator of compromise, which show you what file was either quarantined or removed.""Since we deployed CrowdStrike, the network has become much calmer, and we now understand the sources of infections, which helps us prevent them from spreading.""The solution has improved my organization by automating the detection and reporting of unwanted applications so we're aware of them and can respond appropriately.""I have found the connection to search the hosts for detections very useful in CrowdStrike Falcon.""From what we have seen, it is very scalable. We have recently acquired a company where someone had a ransomware attack when we joined networks. Within the course of just a few days, we were able to easily get CrowdStrike rolled out to about 300 machines. That also included the removal of that company's legacy anti-malware tool."

"The insight that the solution provides is the most valuable aspect. The security scanning they do is excellent.""Datto Endpoint Detection and Response is a perfect product for endpoint security.""The most valuable feature of Datto EDR is the visibility of the endpoints."

Cons
"I haven't seen the use of AI in the solution.""I think cloud security and SASE are areas of concern in the product where improvements are required. The tool's cloud version has to be improved in terms of the security it offers.""There's room for improvement in the quick response time and technical support for integration issues, especially when dealing with multiple vendors.""The amount of usage, the number of details we get, or the number of options that can be tweaked is limited in comparison to that with other EDR solutions""We find the solution to be a bit expensive.""The solution should address emerging threats like SQL injection.""We've encountered challenges during API deployment, occasionally resulting in unstable environments.""ZTNA can improve latency."

More Fortinet FortiEDR Cons →

"CrowdStrike Falcon sometimes wrongly flags things as malicious. Let's say a user is active on Chrome only. Sometimes, our cross-segmenting will fetch from the backend data and show that it is malicious because of memory or CPU utilization.""The GUI can use improvement, it's cloud-based so sometimes the interface can be a bit slow. The interface could use a little bit more speed.""For CrowdStrike to work, all the machines need to have an internet connection. This makes it challenging to assist customers without an internet connection. We would like to have a mechanism or relay to make this possible.""In the six months that I have been using CrowdStrike, it has not been able to detect anything.""I have worked with their technical support on several problems that were never fully resolved.""The price is too high.""CrowdStrike Falcon could be enhanced by extending its security capabilities to include NDR and XDR.""Any kind of integration that you want to do, such as using the API to connect to a SIEM, is complex and it will be expensive to do."

More CrowdStrike Falcon Cons →

"The solution could improve by having more deployment methods.""The deployment of the solution right now is terrible. We find it to be very bad. It could be improved enormously.""The solution should allow the automation of playbooks."

    Reviews from Real Users

Below are some reviews and helpful feedback written by Fortinet FortiEDR users.

An Owner at a security firm says, "The features that I have found most valuable are the ability to customize it and to reduce its size. It lets you run in a very small window in terms of memory and resources on legacy cash registers. The customer has literally about 800 cash registers. That was the use case for Fortinet FortiEDR - to get that down into a tiny space. The only way to do that was to use this product because it had that ability to unbundle services that were a surplus.”

Chandan M., Chief Technical Officer at Provision Technologies LLP, mentions, “The ease of deployment and configuration is valuable. It's very easy compared to other vendors like Sophos. Sophos' configuration is complex. Fortinet is a lot easier to understand. You don't need a lot of admin knowledge to do the configuration.” He also adds, “The security is also very good and the firewall response is good.”

Harpreet S., Information Technology Support Specialist at Chemtrade Logistics, explains, "It notifies us if there's any suspicious file on any PC. If any execution or similar kind of thing is happening, it just alerts us. It doesn't only alert. It also blocks the execution until we allow it. We check whether the execution is legitimate or not, and then approve it or keep it blocked. This gives us a little bit of control over this mechanism. Fortinet FortiEDR is also very straightforward and easy to maintain."

DeAndre V., Senior Network Administrator at a financial services firm, states, “The dashboard is easy to follow and use. The deployment and uninstalling were easy. I like the detailed information about the path of a file that might be suspicious. Being able to check that out was easy to follow. Exceptions are easy to create and the interface is easy to follow with a nice appearance.

CrowdStrike Falcon offers advanced threat detection, real-time visibility, easy interface, and responsive customer support. It enhances workflow and efficiency, promotes collaboration, streamlines processes, and boosts productivity.
