Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The ConnectWise ScreenConnect tool is very good for remote access.""Unattended access is the most important feature.""I've noted an ROI while using the solution.""it gives me the ability to remotely connect to machines that I manage without user intervention.""Remote support is efficient and easy for our end users to receive support.""The initial setup is fairly straightforward.""Offers more security than TeamViewer, Google Remote Desktop, and Zoom. It's a stable, feature-rich solution that's easy to set up and easy to scale.""Valuable features include the responsiveness, ability to tune up and tune down the connection, and video."

"The initial setup was simple.""LogMeIn Central allows numerous active clients, say... 50, to use licenses for remotely accessing a computer from home, taking advantage of all the solution's built-in security features.""No issues with stability. It has worked on every platform I’ve tried it on, and not interfered with anything.""I would not want to tell other companies about it because it is so powerful, it does so much, and it makes me look so good.""It allows you to transfer along with many other functions.""I have called for help to their technical support, and they have been extremely helpful.""Provides remote access, allows me to get inside our network to be able to fix problems.""Unattended remote assistance."

Cons
"For my company, just installing the software and using it is very easy. But if I need to give one of my customers access to their machines, the process that you have to go through is some 15 to 20 steps. You have to create a group, and then you have to assign a policy. It takes 15 to 20 minutes to set up someone for remote access to their own machine.""Reporting could definitely use improvement. With LogMeIn Rescue, I used to be able to, for instance, at the end of the month, pull off a report of every session. It was very simple... I could see the name that was typed in, the IP address to the computer that it was connected to, if it was running Windows... It just doesn't seem - there might be but I haven't found it - to be a way of pulling that information out of ConnectWise.""There is an issue which is pretty rare, but I find it at least when connecting from my mobile device. I am forced to refresh the screen by changing the screen quality to get screen updates. This only happens sometimes.""The solution is a little bit complicated when you want to implement it.""I really didn't care for the onboarding process and it is something that should be improved.""I would like to see more overlap, meaning, I would like to be able to see what processes are running on a computer, for example, or what services are running.""There could be improvement to the remote command line tools.""Something that I would like to see in the future is mobile video streaming. They do provide audio conferencing, but seeing the problem makes it easier to solve the problem. If they had video streaming, if a client had a physical problem with something and I couldn't get remote access, the client could use his mobile phone to show me the problem. In these cases, even if a client's systems were down, I could help, so long as I had a mobile phone environment."

"I have had issues where LogMeIn has not been useful, then we have not been able to work that day. This happens probably two or three times a year.""File transfer on the free version needs improvement. Allow file transfer with drag and drop to and from Remote Desktop. ""It needs backwards compatibility for non-Microsoft-supported operating systems, for example, XP and 2003. In situations where I have no options but to run older operating systems, I would like for it to be backwards compatible.""There are some screens that are just ugly and difficult to manipulate.""It's not really a true RMM product but more of just a remote access.""They should provide intermediate device limit options for the users.""LogMeIn Rescue could be made a lot easier where you could just tell the person where to go and log in, and they could just log in. Or even make it simpler where you could just send a file to a person and they would click on it; just something easier. The way they have it right now, it's not easy.""I do not like the antivirus."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "Good price and works well."
  • "Their licensing model is good, their pricing model is good, their service is good; bandwidth is excellent. They're consistent."
  • "I think the product's pricing is a good value. I paid $600 a year and that was fine for me. It was about $50 a month. Licensing is all very straightforward."
  • "It is priced well and it is still a great value. Although I have been reading a lot about Splashtop. They are getting pretty competitive on their pricing, including a fairly easy to use remote support for mobile applications, like iOS and Android."
  • "Pricing is fair for Control and the licensing is simple."
  • "The cloud version is relatively inexpensive, but the on-premise version is expensive if you do not need three technicians, only one or two for concurrent sessions."
  • "It is priced fairly."
  • "Make sure you have enough licensing for all the techs that you have."

  • "It sucks that I am paying for LogMeIn Central, LogMeIn Pro, and LogMeIn Rescue, plus LogMeIn Ignition, which is the mobile app. It costs me a lot of money every month at LogMeIn. "
  • "It really is an expensive product for me."
  • "Pricing is a little on the expensive side, compared to what TeamViewer has offered."
  • "It used to be a lot cheaper but then the price shot up (doubled over the span of two years), but it's hard to switch, and most competing products are similarly priced anyway."
  • "Pricing is a little high. They require for LogMeIn Central to go into brackets. If you go over a certain amount of PCs or servers to access, going up to the next bracket is a big jump."
  • "The price is a little high but it's competitive. The licensing process is fairly easy."
  • "It's probably worth the value, but the price increases over the last five years are getting harder to justify."
  • "We went with it for pricing reasons, that it was the biggest bang for our buck, by combining the ability to have a central security console, as well as a central point for user administration."
