We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"When I started using CloudSphere, it wasn't mature, and it had multiple issues. For example, my team experienced server issues while using the solution, but recently, I noticed how much CloudSphere has improved. There used to be some latency issues with CloudSphere. It even gave error messages in the past when you select an option such as "the web server is not responding", but it has improved a lot, and now I don't get any errors from CloudSphere. What I like best about CloudSphere is that it has a lot of beneficial features, and it has a single pane for managing multi-cloud environments, which I find very helpful, and it's the main benefit you can get from CloudSphere.""Provides multiple kinds of services for managing the clouds of multiple customers.""We do not need to install any appliances or any agents.""For the customers I work with, it provides flexibility as far as storage is concerned, so it's security and access.""The product is helpful for the management, optimization, and utilization of resources."

"It is easy to use from its deployment architecture to use cases. It is straightforward for customers to use. It's a good product and better than the earlier versions.""It provides us with predictive analysis of the capacity, helping us plan the scalability of resources.""The solution has helped us improve quality of service to users, by giving alerts when different performance metrics get outside of their normal ranges. For example, I've had times when there have been memory leaks in applications and this solution has shown me as my memory usage gets outside of normal bounds. I'm able to find that and resolve it before my customers get back to me to tell me that there's a problem.""Being able to consolidate everything on similar hardware is really helpful, as opposed to trying to manage a bunch of hosts.""It gives us a single pane of glass to look at whenever we're trying to troubleshoot issues, so we can go to one place as opposed to multiple places.""It removes the guess work. It gives me real data and analysis in a very user-friendly way that I can show to my management without going deep into numbers.""Vmware always gives us the best support. They are friendly to talk to and they understand the real impact of what's happening. They are trying to get into the issue as one of your team. They also fit into your working hours to solve your issues.""It provides optimization recommendations for data centers, cluster workload migrations, and vSAN."

Cons
"There are quite a number of services that can't be deployed using CloudSphere.""The main issue I experienced from CloudSphere was recently resolved, but an area for improvement in the solution is that it lacks the functionality of migrating resources from one public cloud to another. If CloudSphere could provide that functionality, that would be very beneficial to users and companies.""When we start the scanning of, for example, 500 servers, it will not handle the scan. We need to differentiate the jobs - for example, one job for 100 servers, a second job for another 100 servers, et cetera.""The next feature I would like to have full disclosure of what's being done with the data.""The solution must have a single management console for the resources and VMs."

More CloudSphere Cons →

"The only problem we have is monitoring of the disk space used by the program.""I would like to see more integration between vRealize Operations, Log Insight, and Network Insight. It would be nice if they worked a bit better together.""The database services in the tool as backup services are friendly and can be deployed in the release to production. However, in the new features, I would like to include more online documentation that can help service generate early alerts.""I would like to have more documentation, in the form of knowledge bases, that better explain the technology, related products, and what the capabilities are.""Enhancing automation features without interruption would be beneficial.""There is a learning curve because it's a complex program. There is a lot to consume in terms of the metrics inside of it. That's the biggest hurdle: trying to understand all the places to go look.""They can change the interface for the 6.7 vSphere that would make it more simple and more friendly. I think changing the interface of the operations manager would be good. It's friendly to use right now but it would simplify it more.""It's complex to manage because there are a lot of options and metrics. It's complex when you want to do something very specific."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "It depends on how that model will be used. It might be anywhere between $4 and $15 per license per month. It’s less expensive than other options."
  • "The product is very expensive."
  • More CloudSphere Pricing and Cost Advice →

  • "Don't overallocate! This means that you don't have to buy many hosts. You can save money that way."
  • "The pricing: It's expensive."
  • "Pricing is good for us. We're non-profit so we get a break on that."
  • "I would like to see a free offering. Cost is always a factor in any sort of line. Obviously, the value added is there and it's worth it."
  • "We have seen ROI in performance. It used to be our company was giving out eight CPUs to all servers. That was bad performance-wise. People were seeing slow compute times for their applications."
  • "Pricing could always be cheaper, but it's acceptable."
  • "vRealize Operations has proved to be a cost effective solution for our big environment."
  • "As we continue to implement it across multiple environments, it reduces costs as well."
