We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"We really liked its ease of implementation against our Microsoft Azure environment.""It learns from behavior, attacks, management, detections, captures packets, real-time analysis, et cetera. It's generating knowledge from a variety of sources for an excellent analysis.""Overall, it provides good security.""It provides complete visibility of workload hosted on different cloud platforms including AWS and Azure, along with multiple tenants.""The user interface is responsive and quite intuitive; when selecting an object it automatically shows the relevant actions.""The ability to drill down to individual hosts on an account and see which ones are affected is valuable.""The most valuable feature is posture management, which gives you complete visibility of all your assets in the cloud and allows you to do governance and compliance.""It saves time because I can look across the organization. Instead of checking 50 different accounts atomically and spending 15 minutes investigating each, I can spend 15 minutes exploring all 50 accounts. It allows me to quickly look across the org for similar problems when one comes up. That's a huge time saver."

"The solution is scalable for our purposes.""The recommendation section is pretty helpful.""The most valuable feature of CloudCheckr CMx High Security is granular reporting. Additionally, the user interface is easy to use.""The best feature I like about CloudCheckr CMx High Security is its simplicity. I love that it's not rocket science to use the solution. Even if you're not familiar with the cloud, you can easily figure out how to use CloudCheckr CMx High Security. You can use AWS, you can use Azure, and you can use GCP with the solution because the integration is quite simple. You can also use multi-cloud with it, and you could see the billing part. You'll have complete visibility into your cost which I love about the solution. I also love that data on any security issues and vulnerabilities are available on the go with CloudCheckr CMx High Security. You don't need to do anything different. Just run the scan and you'll have all these open findings in the tool, in terms of the priority level, so if it's critical, it will tell you, "It's critical," and you need to fix it right away.""The initial setup is straightforward.""It will automatically suggest areas for optimization.""It's one of the leading players for cloud optimization. It's hard to find anything better.""The solution is mostly stable."

Cons
"The technical support could be better, but I do not know of any other needed improvements.""Integration could be improved.""The reporting dashboard responds slowly, which leads to late report compilation.""In general, for the product to be successful, they need to improve security, and configuration detection.""The main issue that we found with Dome9 is that we have a default rule set with better recommendations that we want to use. So, you do a clone of that rule set, then you do some tweaks and customizations, but there is a problem. When they activate the default rule set with the recommendations and new security measures, it doesn't apply the new security measures to your clones profile. Therefore, you need to clone the profile again. We are already writing a report to Check Point.""I would like to see some AI on the back-end, just to assist with doing analysis and making recommendations.""The Check Point Infinity admin portal sometimes freezes.""Dome9 should also support deployments that are on-premises and in a hybrid cloud."

"What needs to be improved in CloudCheckr CMx High Security is integration. All the clouds are going quite fast, for example, all the cloud providers: Microsoft, Google, etc. CloudCheckr CMx High Security is good with AWS, no doubt about it, but with Azure and Google Cloud, I find that the solution is slow in that direction. If the vendor planned for CloudCheckr CMx High Security to be automated just for AWS, then it does make sense. If not, if the vendor is also targeting good integration with Google and Microsoft, then CloudCheckr CMx High Security integration needs improvement, in particular, it has to be faster. At the moment, its integration with Azure is not as good as its integration with AWS. With GCP, integration is nowhere.""The performance of the tool really needs to be improved.""Many features still need to be implemented in this tool.""The reporting and analytic capabilities are very limited.""CloudCheckr CMx High Security is complex. There are a lot of menus, and if you do not know what you are looking for you can get lost. However, the interface is self-explanatory. It's easy to understand where to go to get what you want.""Self-healing could be a bit smoother and a bit cleaner, easier to access and more functional. That would help.""The solution must improve its user interface.""The solution needs to work better with larger capacities of data."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "They support either annual licensing or hourly. At the time of our last negotiation, it was either one or the other, you could not mix or match. I would have liked to mix/match. "
  • "I would advise taking into account the existing number of devices and add a forecast of the number of devices to be added in the coming year or two, to obtain better pricing."
  • "It is a very straightforward licensing model that is based on the number of assets you are discovering and managing with the solution."
  • "The licensing and costs are straightforward, as they have a baseline of 100 workloads (number of instances) within one license with no additional nor hidden charges. If you want to have 200 workloads under Dome9, then you need to take out two licenses for that. Also, it does not have any impact on cloud billing, as data is shared using the API call. This is well within the limit of free API calls provided by the cloud provider."
  • "I suggest that you pay attention to the product pricing because while there are no tricks, and the licensing model is transparent, the final numbers may surprise you."
  • "Right now, we have licenses on 500 machines, and they are not cheap."
  • "The pricing is tremendous and super cheap. It is shockingly cheap for what you get out of it. I am happy with that. I hope that doesn't get reported back and they increase the prices. I love the pricing and the licensing makes sense. It is just assets: The more stuff that you have, the more you pay."
  • "Licensing and costs are straightforward, as they have a baseline of 100 workloads within one license and no additional charges."

  • "A license is needed to use CloudCheckr CMx High Security, but because we are a managed service provider, the price of the license would vary. It depends on the type of cloud users we have, for example, it would be some type of percentage or monthly billing, etc."
  • "The solution is reasonably priced."
  • "The cost is on par with other providers."
