Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"We are a remote company, and the product helps us manage the global endpoints. It helps us natively manage the endpoints in the cloud from anywhere.""We have found the solution is capable of scaling.""Intune's feature that I have found most valuable is its auto-pilot feature.""Agile and easy to deploy MDM solution that covers the maximum number of policies. Stable, scalable, and with knowledgeable technical support.""Remote Wipe and Autopilot is one of the best features.""Autopilot is the most valuable feature.""I haven't used other mobile device management solutions, but compared to SCCM, we eliminate a lot of on-premises infrastructure and maintenance by using Intune.""The most valuable feature is the UEM capabilities."

"The compliance management, patching, and OS upgrades are useful features.""Depending on who's looking at the data, they need to configure that data in different ways, and the dashboards help us to do that better than what was previously available.""The log audit and historical configurations are the most valuable feature.""The network security of BMC TrueSight Network Automation has been the best feature.""The backup and restore configurations are really helpful for a number of network devices, as you can automate them, then know what changes have been done, who made the changes, etc. So, it's quite helpful in the network management area.""The most valuable feature of BMC TrueSight Network Automation is compliance management, configuration backup, and configuration management.""We use it to back up configurations so the configuration management is valuable for us.""It has the best automation features."

"The solution has very good integration capabilities.""It's very easy to use.""NetCool has a huge database that can collect and process about one million alarms a day.""Tivoli NetCool allows us to grasp a lot of data that can be applied toward predictive analytics and auto-remediation.""The tool had many built-in automation capabilities.""It's very easy to use.""Anything is possible with Tivoli. It's quite a robust system.""The feature I have found most valuable with NetCool is how it collaborates all the alarms, and then it does a predictive analysis, providing a consolidated alarm view and management."

Cons
"I know that their AI pieces are at the infancy stage, but allowing users to do more tagging for information would be an interesting thing because Intune also directly integrates with Azure. Because a lot of the devices are hosted with that, you also get a lot of tagging of user data and other things like that.""It should be simplified. I've worked with many different mobile device management solutions, and Intune is one of the more complex ones. It could be more simplified, and some of it is related to the wording that is being used, such as a configuration profile versus a policy. They really should have had different names to make it less confusing.""It needs certificate provisioning for S/MIME purposes.""There is room for improvement in integration and security as well.""It would be great if Intune offered better data protection controls for BYOD Windows PCs.""The security features should be improved.""There can be more logs. I do not have any other requirements.""It would help if administrators could pinpoint the exact location of a stolen device to help law enforcement retrieve it and apprehend the suspect."

More Microsoft Intune Cons →

"I would like to see more device supported features, mostly on the new brands and models coming in. For any new version or model, it should be supported by the tool, especially the newest versions. For example, the newest devices, like Aruba Wireless, and routers need support from the tool.""They need to have a single sign-on.""It is tedious to scale the solution.""BMC TrueSight Network Automation can improve by having a better UI. The overall quality of the UI could be better.""I believe there could be new features in terms of the latest technology.""We've been working with BMC support in various ways such as to allow for the high-availability components to the TSIMs to work together. There have been issues there. We've seen randomness in how other pieces of the software work. Integration with the Presentation Server and the TSIMs has been a challenge. The ports that are required for HA to be utilized were not clearly documented anywhere. In fact, they still aren't documented online anywhere, even though we managed to pull it out of some of their support people.""For customized compliance, it takes some effort to implement things. If the device configuration is quite complex, then you have to do quite number of customizations in the DNA tool for out-of-the-box compliance. These regular expressions have to be modified based on the requirements of the compliance.""There could be automated processes to retrieve the CVS and create a compliance tool."

More BMC TrueSight Network Automation Cons →

"The solution is too expensive.""Customization and integration that you need to do to make the product fit your needs is very complex. It is not a product that somebody could easily pick up without any prior training or experience.""The solution is not user-friendly.""In terms of improvement, I would like to see more AIOps, Artificial Intelligent Operations in the next release. IBM develops new features for Power BI or Cognos Analytics, which is good. As of now, we use Cognos Analytics, we are not using Power BI. They have the Insight concept but we don't like that.""The installation could be simplified, and technical support could be faster.""UI is outdated, very old legacy.""The installation could be simplified, and technical support could be faster.""Tivoli NetCool is based on a Linux platform, it would be beneficial if they moved it to Windows because not everyone is acquainted with Linux."

    Reviews from Real Users

Microsoft Intune stands out among its competitors for a number of reasons. Two major ones are its ability to secure all devices under its management and the flexibility that the solution offers its users.

A computing services manager notes, "Its security is most valuable. It gives us a way to secure devices, not only those that are steady. We do have a few tablets and other devices, and it is a way for us to secure these devices and manage them. We know they're out there and what's their status. We can manage their life cycle and verify that they're updated properly."

The head of IT engineering at a financial services company writes, "The one feature we find most useful is the Mobile Application Manager. There are two types: we have the complete MDM and the Mobile Application Manager (MAM). We don't give our users phones, it is their own personal phone, and we need to allow them to have access to the company details on their phone. We need to create a balance between their own personal data and the company data. We deploy the Mobile Application Manager for them so that we won't be able to interfere with their own personal data."

Network automation and management software reduces network outages and downtime by automating configuration, change and compliance processes. Organizations depend on high performance across their network to keep the business running at peak efficiency but new security threats make it hard for network administrators to keep pace with the demands for new services and safeguard the health of the network.

IBM Tivoli Netcool delivers near real-time, consolidated event management across business infrastructure, data centers, complex networks and IT domains. The software provides full management and automation to help you deliver continuous uptime of business services and applications.
