We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"All of the reporting features are very good, as they allow us to track monthly expenses and send relevant emails.""AWS Cost Management is good for providing in-depth information in one place.""The budgeting tool of AWS Cost Management is the most valuable feature.""The initial setup wasn't complex at all.""The stability and scalability are good.""The product provides the ability to set cost limits and budgets for a set of resources on the network.""With the cost management tool, clients can optimize fine tuning their consumption.""The tool's cost management feature provides a comprehensive view of AWS costs, allowing us to plan and make cost-effective decisions. With AWS Cost Explorer, we can perform cost planning, generate recommendations, and provide clients with suggestions for resizing. This feature includes data filtering and protection, offering users insights into spending patterns through AWS spending patterns and planning tools. The product is easy to learn."

"It's easy to set up.""The most valuable feature of Nutanix Cloud Manager is the flexibility we're finding in expanding our technology and our support.""I do a lot of tasks via automation which I previously would have to hire people to do. The solution has helped me to eliminate a lot of low-skilled labor. I can put the money required for this job into other things.""Nutanix Cloud Manager's interface offers valuable insight, providing me with the comfort of knowing everything is functioning optimally and can be upgraded with a single click.""The scripting, where you can use libraries, is a valuable feature. We don't really make the blueprints, as we have a third-party company that makes them for us. But it enables calling APIs in the blueprints. When we create a machine, we use IPAM from Infoblox and we can get an IP address. It's one platform to script and we can then use all the APIs to complete the scripts. It gives us a central management tool from which we can do a lot of things automatically.""It is a scalable solution.""Nutanix Prism Pro and Nutanix AOS have greatly improved our organization by providing a reliable and simple solution that requires little to no maintenance in order to successfully offer a stable service to our clientele, as opposed to the competitors.""What I found most valuable in Nutanix Cloud Manager (NCM) is the one-click upgrade and the analytics it can provide for hyper-converged infrastructure."

Cons
"Data transfer between S3 buckets within AWS incurs costs, especially when moving data from one bucket to another or downloading data.""I would like to see the forecasting models improved with AWS Cost Management.""The solution needs to improve the communication mechanism available to the stakeholders.""AWS could improve the compatibility with other products.""We need finer-grained control over the roles and policies for users, specifying their permissions as to what they can look at.""There could be an option to build custom dashboards for the platform.""I would like to see AWS Cost Management be more precise in their calculations.""The solution needs to have its own dashboard for seeing details on it. It should be customizable as well so I have the ability to pull up the information I need to see and have it in one place for my reference. I should just be able to click and see everything I need in one step."

More AWS Cost Management [EOL] Cons →

"We have had our fair share of issues while upgrading early on, but the process now is working flawlessly.""Compatibility with multiple clouds and a single control would help us. We are also getting onto GCP, and there is limited compatibility with GCP in the areas we need. We are using GCP primarily for data analytics.""Nutanix is one of two stacks where you can run everything you like. It would be nice if you could run it without the Nutanix appliance. Some clients don't use Nutanix engineering server hardware, so it would be helpful to run the Nutanix software for demos and tests.""LCM could be our second favorite feature right up there with One-Click Upgrades if it worked as smoothly but We have had a few issues with LCM but those appear to have been related to OEM hardware vendor not in sync with Nutanix software, not sure how this could be improved in the future.""The design could be more user-friendly. There is always room for improvement when it comes to a site being more user-friendly.""We would like to be able to provision virtual machines at the computing level, as that would give us an added value against the competition.""In Brazil, Nutanix Cloud Manager is not cheap.""Few systems are not business-critical, but they run 24/7."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "We have signed a long-term contract with AWS. There are different service levels that will determine the level of support you have."
  • "We get AWS Cost Management for free because we use AWS services."
  • "The product is affordable."
  • "AWS Cost Management is free to use."
  • "The tool's pricing depends on our services."
  • More AWS Cost Management [EOL] Pricing and Cost Advice →

  • "Nutanix has good central management tools where one guy can manage the entire system. Looking at other systems, I need a guy to manage the servers and another guy to manage the cell network and storage. I need a bigger team for other solutions compared to Nutanix where I can use a small team and reduce my operations to manage the cluster. Sometimes what you hear with this solution is, "It is so expensive," but the cost and benefits that Nutanix has inside are really good."
  • "Some people say that Nutanix is a bit more expensive. However, when we were looking at Nutanix versus Cisco and NetApp before deploying this solution, the prices were very similar. Being a government entity, we got a bit more of a discount on Nutanix so it was a bit cheaper. The time savings after the fact has been really worth it."
  • "Prism Pro is a bit more upfront. It costs a bit more for some of the features that you get. We have four clusters, and two of them don't have Prism Pro because they weren't even available with what we bought. Those two clusters also run well, but they don't have all the features."
  • "It's cost-effective. It's not necessarily cheap, but it's also not inordinately expensive. It comes down to how much you use it to offset some of the costs."
  • "Don't unlicense your Prism licensing. Pro is the strict minimum for real infrastructure. Go with at least Pro and not with the starter. Ultimate was the best choice for me."
  • "I think it can be more cost-effective."
  • "While the product may seem to be more expensive at first, it ultimately pays for itself within a short time frame due to the hours saved on maintenance."
  • "The solution is a bit high in price for what we are receiving as features. I feel they are overcharging us at approximately 25 percent. That is something that they should change."
