We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The solution helps with reducing operational costs, which can be reduced by up to 30% to 40% in savings in terms of operational cost.""The data capture feature is very valuable. I know there are also some elements where you have to be able to incorporate AI, but I haven't gotten to that level yet.""The overall usefulness of Automation Anywhere is the most valuable aspect of the solution.""We have improved on IQ Bot collectively with the normal Taskbot that we use. How it got started was that we have a lot of scanned documents to input for our solution. So, I used to get a lot of scanned documents, and extracting or reading the data from those has always been a pain area. We always used to bring a manual person in to do it. Once a manual person did that activity, it was brought into Excel where I could run the bot. With the entry of IQ Bot, it now takes care of my scanned documents, which means IQ Bot does the OCR extraction and gives my data to the Automation Anywhere Taskbot. This means no manual intervention and end-to-end bot processing, along with a happy customer at the end of the day. We provide these services to multiple clients, so we have been doing this for all of our clients.""I really like Screen Recording because it is used to record a task or a series of actions.""it helps to save time when doing processes. E.g., when you do a manual process for eight hours, that time is saved because the bot will do that task for you. The process owners will be able to do the analysis part. The repetitive/manual part will be done by the robot.""WLM & Device Pool, where multiple devices perform the same thing parallel and complete the tasks at the same time. The credential manager for security is one of the most valuable features for storing credentials and providing security between the developer usage and future maintenance where passwords expire every 90 days.""IQ Bot is one of the most valuable features because it helps in processing different formats from different vendors."

"I am able to continuously test my new releases across browser versions without issues.""The ability to choose from many devices is the best feature.""Selenium Grid allows testing multiple platforms to insure functionality for most users.""The ability to replay sessions is valuable for tracking down issues.""CBT has made it easier to troubleshoot issues across devices when we do not have actual access to those specific devices. I even opt for CBT sometimes when we do have access to the device just because it is easier.""When developing new pages that have questionable functionality or coding, we will often use CBT to test it in a browser. CBT works with our testing environment and development site.""Each new session started with the live testing feature allows for a cleared browser and new experience to be able to not only see these attributes on the page clearly but also pass clean data.""The extensive range of products available to simulate is something I have come to appreciate as it has resulted in an ability to broaden the scope of our tests."

Cons
"Training is good and interactive but the final certification exam is very tough and it requires in-depth practical knowledge.""We have in-house, a few variables, which we use from technical perspectives. We don't have them in Automation Anywhere, but they introduced them yesterday.""Also, the Master certification should be provided free of cost for partners. More practical samples and examples of bots using new features in A2019 should be available in people Documentation. A2019 presentation material for proposing A2019 as an RPA choice should be provided to partners.""I would like to have the MetaBot screen name title dynamic instead of static.""Room for improvement is more on the IQ Bot side: How quickly we can adopt and deploy it?""The improvements that we could see would be the increased stability of each A2019 releases and reduce the likely impact on existing features. We are also looking to see improvements in the upgrade and bot deployment processes to make them easier and less interaction with back end servers.""The initial setup was a bit difficult and took more time than expected.""The stability of this solution depends on the processes, but I think that there is room for improvement in this regard."

More Automation Anywhere (AA) Cons →

"The "Getting Started" documentation for Selenium testing could be improved.""Being able to test on real devices via the virtual connection is wonderful, but it can cause some lag and load time issues while testing.""This solution would benefit from faster testing and support for more devices.""I have experienced some lagging issues, and it does not seem like all of the testing environments are configured the same.""It would be useful if we can run the live-testing test cases on multiple platforms at the same time, instead of waiting for one session to finish.""There should be more detailed training on CrossBrowserTesting.""We had some issues with the onboarding process and the cloud conductivity could improve.""Sometimes, some of their instances fail, particularly in older versions of browsers."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "Pricing is too high for small-scale groups. The Control Room yearly fee is high, making it difficult to break even."
  • "Automation Anywhere is competitive... Pega is somewhat comparable, but Pega also requires a lot more infrastructure and a lot more experience to get up and running."
  • "Automation Anywhere is costlier than the general competition. That is aligned with the share of the market it has."
  • "They're very flexible around pricing and licensing."
  • "They give us a good deal on the licensing because we bundle and customize things. If you ask to get a bulk business deal, you will receive more benefit. If you take other products from the suite, like IQ Bot, you can also receive a deal on the licensing."
  • "We just did a round of price comparison on a global scale and found it's so hard to compare the license prices. But, Automation Anywhere, in general, is on the same price level as the other vendors, a bit lower in some cases."
  • "If you look at the capital expenditure, Automation Anywhere is number two to UiPath. But if you take a long-term view, on a scalable model of a large number of bots coming out, it slowly goes on to become the costliest tool. There is something they can do about that. The capital expenditure goes out right at the point of buying the tool. For Automation Anywhere, I would need to spend $20,000. UiPath can give me something for $6,000, while Blue Prism will come in at $300,000."
  • "It's cheaper than other similar solutions."
  • More Automation Anywhere (AA) Pricing and Cost Advice →

  • "The lowest price point is very reasonable. It is also useful if only one person in the company needs to check on the browser display."
  • "A few intermediary pricing options for small QA teams would be nice, e.g., unlimited screenshots, "as you need it" parallel tests, etc."
  • "CrossBrowserTesting offered the best value for its price."
  • "It is worth the pricing as the product is supported on multiple platforms and browsers."
  • "SmartBear offers bundles of products that work together."
