Quotes From Members
We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The most valuable feature is the alerting. As soon as we click on an incident, it takes us directly to the problematic PC. It's a direct solution. We click on an alert and it takes us to the incident details. The details show in different colors, in a graphical representation, and I like that the most.""We've looked at the Digital Experience Management Quadrant (DEM-Q) to see how our digital experience compares to others who use the solution. We have used that to see how we are trending and it gives us some insight into areas that we might need to focus more on. That's helpful.""The application response time. That's what our business has been having a problem with.""It is a tool that helps me check users' computers really quickly without having a help desk administrator logging in and doing analysis. Anyone who has access to Aternity, including our support team, can log onto Aternity and do a quick, basic analysis.""The most valuable features for us are the Incident Management dashboard, Application Status dashboard, and Activity Analysis UI.""Being able to proactively identify issues on user systems.""It is useful for working out whether there are any issues in the network or between the endpoints. It is also useful for working out any performance issues. It has been useful for a lot of stuff around Teams. Our customers like to know what's happening with Teams when they call in. It is helpful for easily profiling users. It records all the applications that are being used for each user, and you can see what users are doing. It is very good in terms of performance. You don't have to wait forever to try and get reports or results. It is quite quick to get everything that you need out of the software.""Aternity's Digital Experience Management Quadrant (DEM-Q) has been a game changer for us. While knowing your own metrics is nice, if you don't know how you compare to others or what the numbers should be, then it doesn't tell you much. This solution puts that into context (if we are doing better than others or worse), which helps us prioritize where we want to focus and do improvements versus that's just how slow it's supposed to be. It's also great in communicating what we are doing and why we're doing it to our IT leadership teams, by saying, while we're pretty far behind others in certain categories, the time and changes for our prioritizations are justified."

"Performance monitoring is a valuable feature.""I like Stratusphere's login metrics. It lets you drill down to exactly what you want to see.""There are a lot of customization options, such as creating your own tables and more. You have the option to make whatever you like and see whatever you want."

Cons
"Aternity does provide performance numbers, the data. However, it doesn't tell you what you can do about it. It just presents the facts. How to interpret the data, and how to draw conclusions from a lot of the data, requires knowledge and experience. That's the part that I would hope Aternity can continue to explore and give us that kind of capability.""When it comes to what is called creating signatures, it's not easy for a non-coding person for desktop applications. You need to run the recording and you need to have some exposure and knowledge. That is an area where they can improve. For web applications, they have the Web Activity Creator and that's an awesome and easy tool. Anybody can use it and capture the signatures. With the desktop applications it's a little more cumbersome and difficult.""Signature development process requires deep technical expertise in the application and in the use of their studio tools that help you create it.""Its user interface and features should be improved. They don't support new versions of certain Linux editions. That is one of the reasons why we have to move to another solution.""I can see the location and computer model and I can see a bunch of different attributes. But one thing I can't see is the Internet Explorer version.""I would like Alluvio Aternity to be certified by the IRAP for petrol companies in Australia.""The licensing model doesn't suit the market we are in and has room for improvement.""Reports were a lot easier in the older versions"

More Alluvio Aternity Cons →

"The main challenge for this solution is its lack of availability for training and in-depth troubleshooting steps.""The time taken by the solution for the data to load should be improved. It was pretty high in some instances. The latency for some stuff to load up was pretty high.""The dashboard is pretty lackluster compared to its competitors. They need to look at the competition and adopt some of those features. Liquidware could make the dashboarding more user-friendly and integrate scripting into the product."

Pricing and Cost Advice
  • "Our management squeezed Aternity pretty hard on the pricing, in my opinion a little too much. I advise negotiating for sure, but I do think it left kind of a sour taste in Aternity’s mouth that we were being so pushy despite the fact that we were only purchasing a small number of licenses."
  • "It’s a little on the costly side, but if you license intelligently, accounting for your various hosts connecting in through VDI or terminal servers, you can make it well worth your money."
  • "If the scale of your monitoring will be to go everywhere in an organization, a site license is key."
  • "Pricing is a bit high. Don't take that as the "be all, end all"."
  • "In my opinion they are asking a lot for their SaaS solution, but I also know that that's the direction they're going... The current, on-prem solution is probably a fair price."
  • "The pricing for the users and agents is reasonable compared to other solutions and vendors."
  • "Regarding cost, compared to other solutions, Aternity is pretty low. It's definitely lower-cost than others that we looked at, like Nexthink."
  • "The pricing is fair."
  • More Alluvio Aternity Pricing and Cost Advice →

  • "The license is based on the number of users. I don't know the current prices, but it's around four euros per user monthly. My customers consider it expensive."
  • "The price varies depending on our model type and the number of users or devices."

    Reviews from Real Users

Below are some reviews and helpful feedback written by Aternity users.

PeerSpot user Ryan P., Head of Cyber Security Engineering & Oversight at a media company, says, "The most valuable thing that you get from Aternity is very broad visibility. You get visibility of your network, of your endpoints, of your software usage, your application performance, capacity, in one pane of glass. We had 20 to 30 IT tools, including application performance monitoring, network monitoring, security, endpoint detection, network protection, capacity management, service management — every kind of monitoring you can imagine. But Aternity was always the first place that I turned for anything, because you can see everything in it."

An Endpoint Administration Manager at a financial services firm mentions, “It gives you the ability to filter the comparison by geography, industry, or company size.” He also adds, “We have absolutely seen ROI. It's really given us a very high level of visibility that we've just not ever had.”

A Regional Network Manager at a recruiting/HR firm comments, "Aternity provides metrics about actual employee experience of all business-critical apps, rather than just a few. It does some out-of-the-box monitoring for the Office suite, but you can create custom monitoring for any of your applications, whether a web client or a desktop application."

A Sr. IT Manager at a manufacturing company states, "The most valuable feature is the application performance troubleshooting because Aternity is able to provide the performance from the end-user perspective. It doesn't just give the standard application logon time, etc., rather it's also able to measure the performance inside the application, the performance of specific transactions in the application, and break it down into three elements: the client time, the network time, and the server time. This gives us a lot of insights into what we need to focus on to improve the performance of an application."

Once they have these insights, they can take the steps necessary to remediate without having to burn time and other resources by engaging in trial-and-error testing.
    • Digital workplace experience monitoring tools. Liquidware Stratusphere UX provides administrators with the ability to monitor their digital workspaces on all levels, keeping aware of everything all at once so that no issues catch them by surprise.

    Liquidware Stratusphere UX Features

When users choose to employ the Liquidware Stratusphere UX solution, they gain access to many different capabilities. These features include:

    • Machine Boot and Login Breakdown tools. Administrators can utilize these tools to keep track of these two critical functions. If there is any lag when users are attempting to start up their devices or log in, this tool will find it. Users can then diagnose the root cause of the problem and quickly take steps to remedy the issue.
    • Process optimization features. Liquidware Stratusphere UX employs a number of features that enable users to ensure that their digital workspaces run at peak efficiency. One such feature enables administrators to de-prioritize applications that users are not really using. This means that digital resources are being directed toward areas of true need instead of to applications that are not relevant to what the user is doing at the time.
