We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The product's deployment process was straightforward.""Global deduplication is the best feature of this solution.""We are satisfied with Arcserve UDP. The most important feature that we use and why we choose this product is the RHA feature.""Our customers are happy with the product’s functionality.""Easy restoration and the solution works quickly.""Instant recovery is the most valuable feature of Arcserve UDP.""There are many backup options available in this solution. For example, you are able to do backups of servers, email, OST files, and users. This is a complete backup solution which is very good.""I like the tool's speed."

"All of the features are fantastic and also the management from Microsoft dealing with multiple machines is great. The whole package is excellent for me.""Excellent compression and deduplication with off-site WAN backup included.""The initial setup was simple and easy. Anyone without prior experience can install, configure, and use it.""The ease of use of the solution is its most valuable feature. The interface is also excellent.""Reverse Delta is Altaro proprietary backup deduplication technology. With Reverse Delta, the latest version of a file is always made available in its entirety, not as a delta file.""The most valuable feature of Altaro VM Backup is its ability to backup and restore various types of data, including Active Directory, application servers, and SQL Server databases.""This solution is stable.""The intuitive interface allows you to set up and perform backups and restores easily."

Cons
"The solution can use a lot of bandwidth when the scheduling is not done, it should auto-schedule itself. For example, if there are 50 users connected in the network at 12 o'clock and the backup is not scheduled. At this time the network offices are going to have performance issues when it is doing a backup. Having a feature to auto-schedule a time when the network is not being used often would be beneficial.""The solution's reporting could be improved and should provide customized reports.""Its interface can be improved. I find it unintuitive.""It should be easier to switch between backup locations. We have multiple data storage locations and sometimes one of those storages need to be replaced. It would be nice if they made it easier to reconfigure the backup configuration.""Every time I change the disc, I have to do a full backup.""It takes much time to verify and consolidate images for backups.""A lot of their new technologies are not very good.""I don't know whether the tool has VMware integrations. It would be good to cover this area if it doesn't have those."

More Arcserve UDP Cons →

"Basically, how it works is that you have a single local drive, and then you have a cloud backup. It'd be nice if you could rotate the single local backup drive. As of now, you can't.""To improve Altaro, I would like to see the ability to choose more than one backup location at a time.""The application could include a feature to install a set size of data, such as the ability to store a single application with all its registry information for easy transfer.""If you look into the performance of a virtual machine and you look to the performance of the physical machine, the correlation between these is totally unclear.""It would be nice to be able to recover the items to their original location.""It would be nice to see a feature that backs up the host so that, in case of a server failure, an entire server could be restored all at once.""The cloud backup and VMware support (now available in the latest releases), could do with some improvement.""Replication is not fast, the GUI could be more user-friendly, and technical support is lacking in Iran."
