We asked business professionals to review the solutions they use.
Here are some excerpts of what they said:
Pros
"The fibre ports that are 10 Gb capacity helped with the travel of a lot of regular as well as video data. Fibre can handle a lot more virtual data than copper twisted-pair, so we got a lot more data and a lot more traffic signals back through the fibre ports, faster, than with copper.""It's easy to extend the stack, We don't use the smaller switches, but it's going well for the rest.""Enables direct access to clusters.""The solution has a very good web interface. It makes it easy to manage everything.""This is a dependable switch which will help you sleep at night.""The new web graphical interface is much better than before. We now have easy access to the command lines. They're all functional.""OmniSwitch Ethernet Switches' best features are it's easy to deploy, manage, and maintain, with services coming through one vendor.""We are able to customize this solution based on the customer's requirements."

"The solution is easy to use and has good integration.""Junos OS is extremely flexible and easy to pick up.""I like that it's fairly easy to implement these ethernet switches.""It is a scalable solution.""It is very valuable for SRX devices and we have found it very easy to configure.""The thing that sets Juniper apart from most switches is that when you're in the command line and you make a configuration change, you just write the command and then say "commit confirmed minutes". For example, I'm configuring a switch here in my office, which is five miles away, and I say, "commit confirmed 5". If I can't get back to the interface within five minutes to be able to make sure the switch came up, it rolls back to the previous configuration. This way I do not get locked out, or the switch doesn't get messed up because of the incorrect configuration. That's an automatic feature, which is pretty slick. I haven't seen that feature with other vendors that I've worked with. That's probably my most favorite feature.""The performance is very good.""The solution is certainly scalable."

Cons
"The product would be better if it were completely compatible with other switching products.""I could see them possibly creating a more intuitive software. It's very user-friendly, but there are some things that aren't very intuitive when programming the switches.""In future versions, I would like to see improvements in networking speed.""The network connection should be improved.""OmniSwitch Ethernet Switches would be improved if cloud-based technology was provided in the Gulf region.""There needs to be better integration with the interface.""technical support response time is sometimes very slow.""I find the CLI hard to use. I wish we could do more in the GUI interface."

"In an upcoming release, Juniper Ethernet Switches could improve by having more microservices.""We need to start seeing some kind of AI to assist with some of what we really want to accomplish from a policy standpoint to achieve better efficiency.""The updates are constantly breaking.""Juniper Ethernet Switches could improve in the EX 2300 model because it does not support IPsec VPN. Only the models at 3400 or higher support it. Additionally, there is a need for support for Mac which is lacking. Some of their competitors, such as Cisco, support Mac.""EX switches take too long to boot when we restart them for maintenance. We need to minimize downtime. Another issue is the command line interface. Juniper's commands are different from other switches, so it's hard to remember them.""The initial setup of switches is not that simple.""Juniper EX Series Ethernet Switches is not cheap. The tool needs improvement in UI.""Juniper Ethernet Switches' operating systems get corrupted when the power fails. They have to improve this issue. I may have to use a newer version."
