An user-friendly solution that can be reconnected anywhere and at any time
Pros and Cons
  • "The most valuable feature of QBO is that it can be reconnected at any time and anywhere. It is not like other software where you have to back up and restore the data."
  • "The Linux Operating System feature is not available. When we access it from the accounting features, it does not transit to installation."

What is our primary use case?

The credentials are needed for the login. After that, we can access and move it.

What is most valuable?

The most valuable feature of QBO is that it can be reconnected at any time and anywhere. It is not like other software where you have to back up and restore the data.

What needs improvement?

The Linux Operating System feature is not available. When we access it from the accounting features, it does not transit to installation.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using this solution since 2021.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

It is a stable product.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

It is a scalable product. It has a feature to add content like the accountant overview or the business overview. So we can assign a particular task to a customer.

Presently, around 100-200 people are using the solution.

How are customer service and support?

I have contacted the technical team once. They are good at analyzing and resolving problems. The support team verifies the credentials first since QBO contains confidential information.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup is very easy. It only asks for specific client details for the setup.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The solution is expensive.

What other advice do I have?

It is user-friendly and can be accessed anywhere and at any time. You can simply use the cloud-based SQL and authentication, and it will hold the overview of your business.

QBO should improve the discrepancy regarding reviews. As users can use it at different places, it becomes difficult to identify whether the change must be done manually or the process should perform it.

But it is an excellent product. I would give it a ten out of ten.

Intuitive, accessible through online, and well-known
Pros and Cons
  • "It's intuitive, electronic, and, as in the old days, eliminates the need for pen and paper. It is the only option. It's the best software."
  • "The internet version is less user-friendly than the desktop version. The desktop version is their flagship, whereas the online version is considerably different, requiring all new learning and having several glitches."

What is our primary use case?

I use QBO to do bookkeeping for our clients in a variety of industries.

How has it helped my organization?

I use it on a daily basis. It's the only program I use. It is also the most popular program in North America and, most likely, the entire world.

What is most valuable?

It's intuitive, electronic, and, as in the old days, eliminates the need for pen and paper. It is the only option. It's the best software.

What needs improvement?

The internet version is less user-friendly than the desktop version.

The desktop version is their flagship, whereas the online version is considerably different, requiring all new learning.

Despite its flaws, it is the best accounting software to use.

I would like to see them take the desktop version and put it in the cloud, from which you can access it.

However, because they have it drastically different, knowing how QuickBooks online works is an entirely new learning experience. That is the most serious issue. It's the equivalent of having to learn two programs.

If they took their flagship desktop version which is awesome, and put that on the cloud and eliminated what is now known as QBO, that would be a wonderful thing. The desktop version is intuitive and makes sense. The users that only know QBO would also easily adapt to the desktop version. I don't know why they went in such a drastic direction with QBO.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been working with QuickBooks Desktop since 1998.

I am now mostly, using the online version.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

There are various glitches in the web version. Glitches can occur as frequently as once per week or as infrequently as once per month, or on in every few months.

Using it is an entirely new learning experience. When you've been using QuickBooks desktop for many years or decades, everyone you meet assumes you're a QuickBooks desktop user. And when they move to QuickBooks online, they have to practically relearn everything.

That is something that I don't like. However. I have been using QBO for a few years now.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I believe it can accommodate up to 500 employees.

How are customer service and support?

In the beginning, I had a lot of experience with technical support.

I have mixed reviews on rating them.

All the tech support people are pro advisors, that is how they have all been trained.

However, they are when you have complications or when you are reaching out for support on something you don't know how to do, let's say, at the beginning when you are transitioning to QuickBooks online. I would say some of their customer support team members are excellent, and then others are not as helpful.

I have learned that you just hang up and call another one.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

They have different plans.

In my opinion, QBO is a bit on the pricey side, but you have no choice. It is still better, in the long run, to go with their pricing or their software than the alternatives.

For example, on the desktop, or when you start going into other options like payroll and then direct deposit, it can be a little pricey.

It could be more expensive to go with other services as well. In the long run, I believe QBO is the best one.

What other advice do I have?

If you are new to accounting or the program, QuickBooks desktop is the version to use. However, the ease of QuickBooks online cannot be matched.

I have to double-check, but I think they are making QuickBooks desktop Online or accessible online. I have to double-check that.

I haven't done that one yet, but it is so much easier, and intuitive to use the QuickBooks Desktop.

Since most people are working remotely, you have to go with QBO.

In my person and professional experience, it's still the best solution. I would rate it a ten out of ten.
