Web hosting software that is easy to install, offers good documentation and compares well to other solutions on the market
Pros and Cons
  • "The initial setup is straightforward. Everything is structured on Plesk with a library. It is really easy to install."
  • "We have experienced bugs when using the graphical interface. They are small bugs that are fixable but this is an area that could be improved."

What is our primary use case?

We use this solution to host websites and to manage web projects.

What needs improvement?

We have experienced bugs when using the graphical interface. They are small bugs that are fixable but this is an area that could be improved.

In a future release, I would like to be able to use GitLab for stories. I have experienced issues using the local repository to build up a server.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

This is a stable solution.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I would rate this solution a nine out of ten for scalability.

How are customer service and support?

I have contacted the support team frequently for bug fixes.

I would rate the support for this solution a nine out of ten.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup is straightforward. Everything is structured on Plesk with a library. It is really easy to install. The time it takes to deploy this solution varies.

If you're going to create a structure that's stable for DNS records, it can take one day for ready-to-use environment.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

We have a 40% discount. The cost is approximately 25 dollars per device per month.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

Plesk and VHM are very similar. Plesk has one more option that I like which is providing Windows and Linux at the same time.

What other advice do I have?

I would advise others to gain as much knowledge as possible before using this solution. If you have limited knowledge, you can rely on the Plesk team to assist. There is also a lot of documentation and FAQ pages to refer to.

I would rate this solution an eight out of ten because it was easy to install and is a good solution overall. It is super compatible for VDS dedicated machines and you can directly record and send out all updates.

Easy, useful setup, with a reasonable price
Pros and Cons
  • "The most valuable feature is the ease of use."
  • "They need to compete with their competitors like AWS and Azure. One example is I would like to see a load balancer feature."

What is our primary use case?

We originally just got the credentials and we needed to install all the things that we need, according to the website's requirements, upload the code to our website and make it live.

What is most valuable?

The most valuable feature is the ease of use.

What needs improvement?

They need to compete with their competitors like AWS and Azure. One example is I would like to see a load balancer feature. I would like to see a more user-friendly version.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been working with Plesk for the past two years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

If we are using less CPU, and less RAM, then obviously the website will be alright. If we have some extra load or extra users, then we need to take care of it, but other than that, the site file goes down.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

There are around two hundred and fifty of us using Plesk.

How are customer service and support?

Technical support was excellent. They resolved my issue for me.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup is straightforward and easy for beginners or experts.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The price of Plesk is reasonable compared to the competition and that is why the management went with using Plesk.

What other advice do I have?

I can give a recommendation and say, "Go for it," and, "Try to learn how a server works." Because it is completely simple and good for a new user. If you are not really very expert, then that is okay. That will work for you. I would rate Plesk a nine out of ten.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Public Cloud

If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?

Other
