I use the solution in my company for SAP SoftwareManage.
Snow License Manager's advantages are attached to its ability to provide users with the compliance overview and its details.
The dashboards provided by the solution have certain shortcomings, making it in areas where improvements are required. The dashboards are not very configurable, and there are not many options available in them. The dashboards could have plenty more features on what to actually display and how to display them.
I have been using Snow License Manager for eight years. I am a customer of the solution.
It is a very stable solution. Stability-wise, I rate the solution a nine out of ten.
It is a scalable solution.
My company uses the product at a place where we deal with around 5,000 units.
The solution's technical support is a bit slow but good. I rate the technical support a seven out of ten.
Neutral
My company is looking at Flexera Software Vulnerability Management.
The product's initial setup phase is very easy.
Only one person is required to take care of the deployment of the product.
The full deployment with the server and databases can take a day to complete.
The product's price is neither too high nor too low, meaning it falls under the middle range. I rate the product price as a four on a scale of one to ten, where one is low, and ten is high. There is a need to make yearly payments towards the licensing cost attached to the solution.
There are situations all the time in my company where the Snow License Manager effectively identifies over-licensing of software, leading to cost savings. It is an effective solution.
In Snow License Manager, the most beneficial feature for maintaining compliance revolves around the area of compliance overview. With the product, my company is able to manage all sources of reports on our organization's environment.
The reporting analytics feature has aided in our company's decision-making processes.
The automated discovery feature in the tool is very good.
In my company, I don't know how I would manage if the tool was not available to help me with asset management.
The product is easy to maintain.
Snow License Manager supports business in contract negotiations by basically giving us all the data to clarify our company's position.
I recommend the solution to others. It is very easy to use, maintain, and deploy.
I rate the tool an eight out of ten.
Snow License Manager's main application is for reporting on visibility and what is currently running.
Nowadays, most people have no idea what software is installed on their devices.
The discovery is excellent. It is agent-based, and it can also operate without one as long as there is an inventory source, such as SCCM. It may take data from the SCCM and normalize it to provide a very clear idea of what the hardware is, what software is running on it, what versions of that software are available, when is the end-of-life, and when they are no longer supported. All of that information is available.
I wouldn't say the capacity is inadequate, it is there.
The support is an area that can be improved.
As resellers, we are doing the first-level support because we have trained certified engineers, and we provide support.
Because we are in India and they do not have a support center in India, the turnaround time for tickets could be improved.
We have to rely on Australia for support.
I don't use Snow License Manager, I am a reseller.
I have been working with Snow License Manager for approximately five years.
We started with version 6.7 and today it is 9.7, or 9.8.
It is more or less stable. As long as the required precautions are followed during installation.
The product is stable.
I would rate the scalability an eight out of ten.
We have both enterprises as well as large and medium-sized banks.
The number of endpoints would be 150,000.
Because of the turnaround time due to the difference between Australia and India, I would give technical support a seven out of ten.
The installation process is quite simple. It just takes about a half-day to get everything up and running.
The majority of installations in India are on-premises rather than on the cloud.
Because the data is stored outside of India, the cloud version is still unavailable.
Financial institutions will not want to use something where the data would be stored outside of India. Of course, for security reasons.
It is very easy to install, I would say, that it is a one-man job assisted by a senior person.
Our clients have claimed a return on investment. A few of them have reported 10 to 15 percent savings on their software costs.
I would rate the pricing a seven or eight out of ten.
It is not a cheap solution, but it provides good value for money.
I would recommend this solution to others who are interested in using it.
I would rate Snow License Manager an eight out of ten. There is always room for improvement.
