Flexible to use product with good technical support services
Pros and Cons
  • "The platform is stable."
  • "The product needs to enhance the interaction feature in terms of speed. Sometimes, when we need to get a virtual view of websites, the speed of notifications between customers and the site works slowly."

What is our primary use case?

We use Fortinet Penetration Testing Service for patch updates. We get notifications from Fortinet about updates and enhancements for issues and implementing any remediation. It allows our customers to protect their networks and environment.

What is most valuable?

The platform is flexible to use.

What needs improvement?

The product needs to enhance the interaction feature in terms of speed. Sometimes, when we need to get a virtual view of websites, the speed of notifications between customers and the site works slowly. Thus, its performance could be faster.

For how long have I used the solution?

We have been using Fortinet Penetration Testing Service for a couple of months.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The platform is stable. There are no bugs, and it works seamlessly.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The platform’s scalability is dependent on the specific requirements.

How are customer service and support?

We have a qualified vendor providing us with support services. We also contact Fortinet in case of critical cases. They respond quickly.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup process is easy. The deployment time depends on the types of environments. For a big infrastructure with high-range equipment, one needs to check all the prerequisites before configuring it. Thus, it takes time to understand the customer requirements, migrate existing equipment, and fine-tune configuration.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

They offer license models for a year, three years, or an extra five-year license.

What other advice do I have?

The product provides the latest updates on malicious attacks and vulnerabilities. I advise others to evaluate ForcePoint as well. I rate Fortinet Penetration Testing Service an eight out of ten.

Helps you earn customer trust; great customer service
Pros and Cons
  • "We didn't use customer service often, but my opinion is that they are really good."
  • "I think the Fortinet Penetration Testing could be further improved by making it more robust than what it is now."

What is our primary use case?

Our primary use case is penetration testing for customers. Penetration testing shows the customers where the issues are for security and vulnerability. This helps you earn the customer's trust and get more work, like setting up firewalls if needed.

What needs improvement?

I think the Fortinet Penetration Testing could be further improved by making it more robust than what it is now.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using this solution for years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I would say that this solution is very stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

My impression is that this solution is quite scalable.

How are customer service and support?

We didn't use customer service often, but my opinion is that they are really good.

On a scale from one to 10, with one being the worst and 10 being the best, I would rate their customer service a nine.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup was not complex, but it wasn't easy either. You need to know what you're doing in order to make it straightforward.

I would rate the initial setup process a seven, on a scale from one to 10, with one being the worst and 10 being the best.

What other advice do I have?

We do penetration testing when there's a request from the network administrator, network admin, or IT director.

Our team usually has only a couple of members, but the customer teams are ranged between three to 400 users.

My advice to others is that you need to get more education about what you're doing because people just want to make money without knowing what they're doing. Get the practice; get the tools; and then, start taking the product.

Overall, I would rate Fortinet Penetration Testing Service an eight, on a scale from one to 10, with one being the worst and 10 being the best.
