SaaS platform used by developers to store and conveniently search for logs
Pros and Cons
  • "The best feature of this solution allows us to correlate logs, metrics and traces."
  • "The documentation of the tool could be improved"

What is our primary use case?

We use the tracing service from Coralogix mainly to store logs.

What is most valuable?

The best feature of this solution allows us to correlate logs, metrics and traces.

What needs improvement?

The documentation of the tool could be improved. The amount of data the system can process at one time is not that high. In a future release, it would be great to have an easier way to manipulate data that has already been ingested. It could also be more user-friendly.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using this solution for a year and a half.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I would rate this solution a nine out of ten for stability.

How are customer service and support?

I would rate this solution a nine out of ten for customer support.

How would you rate customer service and support?

Positive

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup is easy and only took a couple of hours.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The cost of the solution is per volume of data ingested.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

Coralogix is an Israeli startup so the headquarters of the company is in Israel. I believe it was easier for our company to find a company in Israel.

What other advice do I have?

If a company has the budget and the log service is critical for them, I would say use Coralogix. It is a very good service for that.

I would rate Coralogix an eight out of ten. It is an excellent service for storing logs for a long time. The capacity is unlimited for unindexed logs. The cost model is also very efficient because you pay for the ingested data per month. This can be compared to a solution like New Relic where you have to pay it upfront and cannot limit the data ingestion.

Coralogix provides an easy way to search for logs and to visualize them. This a great feature because developers are constantly looking for or browsing logs.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?

Public Cloud

If public cloud, private cloud, or hybrid cloud, which cloud provider do you use?

Amazon Web Services (AWS)

Useful for pushing logs, but the user interface could be more intuitive
Pros and Cons
  • "The solution is easy to use and to start with."
  • "The user interface could be more intuitive and explanatory."

What is our primary use case?

Our primary use case for the solution is pushing logs so we can find the log there or provide it as a self-service to the developers, and developers can see logs and what's going on. So mostly the standard debugging use case.

What is most valuable?

The ability to view is valuable. We can view the logs that are currently available for a few days.

What needs improvement?

The user interface could be more intuitive and explanatory. Additionally, more advanced functionalities can be included in the next release.

For how long have I used the solution?

We have been using the solution for approximately one year and are currently using the cloud version.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

The solution is stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The solution is not scalable because it is very expensive if you scale it up too much. Hence, it is very limiting to use. Currently, 25 people in our organization are using the solution.

How are customer service and support?

We do not have experience with customer service and support.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup is straightforward.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The pricing depends on our requirements. If you're going to use the bare minimum, then the pricing is quite cheap and is a good start for many companies. However, if you're going to do it full-scale and have 30 months of data, then the solution may not be the best fit.

What other advice do I have?

I rate the solution a six out of ten. The solution is good, but the user interface can be improved. The solution is easy to use and to start with, but it does not measure up to the more complex things.
