LinkSprinter is a very good tool for frontline support, like a help desk, and for people who test connectivity.
It is a quick and easy tool; we do not need any experience to use it.
The solution provides switch port and VLAN information. It's a very easy product to use straight out of the box.
The solution should improve cable testing.
I have been using the solution for five years.
It is one of the most stable products I've ever used.
Most of the help desk employees use the solution. In my organization, six people use the solution. About 280 contractors and customers also use the solution. The product is not scalable.
Previously, I used Net Tool. I found it a little bit slower to use. We also need a little bit more experience to use it. However, it had better reporting.
The initial setup is easy. I made a QR code for my staff and clients to scan and use the tester.
The solution does not require maintenance.
The product is a little bit overpriced. It probably needs to be 10 to 20 percent cheaper.
The solution is cloud-based. I rate the solution a nine out of ten.
I use the tool to find the nearest switch, to check whether it's the right speed or duplex, and to connect to the network. I also use it to validate whether or not there's POE on a particular cable, and to run some cable tests. You can do it all from your mobile phone.
The tool fits in your pocket, so it's easy to carry and you don't have to have a big bag of tools. It's convenient. If you're going out to do a small job, you can just use the LinkSprinter.
They could make it easier to set up originally, because the initial setup can be quite hit and miss. It is also quite battery intensive, so it might last a bit longer if it had a lithium battery. You're always having to replace the batteries, so it would be good if it could be USB-charged or something like that.
I have been using this product for probably about six years.
The stability is very good. It's easy to use, so you don't have to be a specialist networker to use it. I would give it a five out of five for stability.
It's just a single device that connects to your phone, so if you bought a load of them you could give your whole workforce a pocket tester, and then collect the data from them centrally.
You download an app on your mobile phone and then pair it with the device. Then, you can look at the results on the Link-Live cloud.
You pay for the device, but you don't have to pay for the app.
I would rate this solution as an eight out of ten.
