If we have a bunch of users with Microsoft Word documents or Excel files, it's not always easy to collaborate on a single file together. If we put it in Google Drive, we can all access it simultaneously and make edits and changes. We can put tags on the files and do a little bit of automation with the basic enterprise version, which is nice. They help to find things that are related to projects.
The ability to simultaneously edit files is really useful. Automatic version control is also valuable. I have never seen a security problem on Google Docs. It is easy to access. Security is built into the tool. We don't have to worry about it so much. I haven't integrated Google Drive, but it's easy to access from other applications like Jira and Confluence. The product is really easy to understand and use.
The web interface is a pain to access compared to the Windows application. However, the Windows application doesn't have any of the advanced features of the web interface, like tagging and SafeSearch. The Windows application should have the same features as the web application. The integration of Google Drive with other things could probably be better. The product’s document management and automation features are very limited. If you're a big organization, it will become a big mess very quickly.
I have been using the solution for a couple of years.
The tool’s stability is almost perfect. I've only had a problem once.
The tool’s scalability seems unlimited. I've never had a problem with it. I rate the scalability a ten out of ten. We have 6000 users. In my previous organization, we had 50,000 users. The solution is used every day.
I have deployed it at a university before. It took less than a week to deploy after we got the basic training.
The ROI is extremely good because we don't have to worry about backups, and the security is very high.
I've never had any issues to complain about, and I don't do the administration. I don't have any experience with support. It's a great replacement for your network drive. Overall, I rate the solution an eight out of ten.
We use the solution for Firestore. We used a cloud call to run the database. We also use BigQuery for data logs.
