Provides good performance and error handling, but its initial setup is complex and could be improved
Pros and Cons
  • "The solution's XSLT or XSL Transformation feature was very useful."
  • "The solution’s initial setup is complex and could be improved."

What is our primary use case?

There are a good number of integrations built on Oracle SOA Suite. These integrations include order processing, debit card and credit card payments, and integration with Paypal and Paymetric.

What is most valuable?

The solution's XSLT or XSL Transformation feature was very useful. The solution can deal with large volumes. The solution's CPU and memory usage are better managed. Okay. The solution's error handling and tracking are also better.

What needs improvement?

The solution’s initial setup is complex and could be improved. A big challenge for Oracle SOA Suite is that you don't get too many technical resources.

For how long have I used the solution?

We did a migration with Oracle SOA Suite for a few months.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Oracle SOA Suite is a stable solution.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Scalability is a challenge for Oracle SOA Suite.

What was our ROI?

The solution has good performance, and it won't give you any kind of memory leakage. The solution's usability is a little bit challenging, but its performance and CPU usage for complex integrations are always good.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Oracle SOA Suite is an expensive solution.

What other advice do I have?

We use Oracle SOA Suite for application integration in our company. We were using the on-premises version of the product. Since Oracle SOA Suite has its own engine, you can build your integrations, deploy, and use them. We used the Oracle BPEL Process Manager for Orchestration when we had a lot of business logic. Oracle Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) and Oracle VPN come under the Oracle SOA integration platform.

Compared to other solutions like SnapLogic, Oracle SOA Suite is not easy to use. Oracle SOA Suite is suitable for customers with a big complex integration process, where performance and infrastructure stability are more important.

Overall, I rate the solution a seven out of ten.

Good for management and easily generate payslips at any point in time
Pros and Cons
  • "The human capital management module is valuable."
  • "It needs more improvement in terms of user-friendliness. SAP wasn't user-friendly at all."

What is our primary use case?

We use NetWeaver for our appraisal process, the procedure for maybe benefits and emoluments. You can use it to generate your base leaves and other stuff.

We mainly use it for human capital management or staff. Then we have a P2P, document signing, peer-to-peer. I've used those functions for a long time.

How has it helped my organization?

We can easily generate payslips at any point in time. We can generate yearly appraisal reports. We use it very often.

What is most valuable?

The human capital management module is valuable.

What needs improvement?

It needs more improvement in terms of user-friendliness. SAP wasn't user-friendly at all.

In interacting with it, it should have a more customizable interface. The interfaces aren't user-friendly, so there's definitely room for improvement.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using it for three years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I would rate the stability a nine out of ten.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I would rate the scalability an eight out of ten.

80% of my company's workforce uses this solution. So, it has around 5,000 end users. So, my company is integrated with many daily functions. Once we identify the feature for functional SAP, we process it accordingly.

How was the initial setup?

The initial module deployment process with SAP, it's modular. So the modules or functionalities depend on the specific needs of each company's departmental units.

The deployment phase can take anywhere from weeks to months, depending on the complexity of the specific module and the company's configuration.

What about the implementation team?

Our IT team set it up. I was not involved in the setup process. They simply gave me access to the SAP system.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

Software and hardware costs are typically handled by separate departments.

What other advice do I have?

For any company with complex IT needs and aspirations for global market competition, SAP NetWeaver can be a valuable tool for streamlining processes and fostering growth.

I would highly recommend using it. I would rate it a nine out of ten.

Which deployment model are you using for this solution?
