We use the solution for database repositories. The use cases depend on the applications. We can't use Oracle at the back end if our application does not support Oracle. Our company moved us from Oracle to Microsoft SQL Server. The use cases of sales and distribution are very different from manufacturing.

When my company has to deal with complex customers along with the many products from Oracle, we use Oracle Enterprise Manager as a dashboard to get a view of all the implementations of Oracle products.

The best part is the efficient database performance monitoring and the ability to take actions directly from there. For example, if any issues arise, such as performance slowing down or sessions getting stuck, you no longer need to go to the server and write a script to address them.

I've used the solution for monitoring. It looks at if something is slow, which processes are taking the most resources, if it's up or if it's down, et cetera.

It's a good product for Oracle management and monitoring. This solution is deployed on-premises, and we are using the latest version.

Monitoring begins as soon as you install Enterprise Manager Cloud Control 12c. Enterprise Manager's Management Agents automatically start monitoring their host's systems (including hardware and software configuration data on these hosts) as soon as they are deployed and started. Enterprise Manager provides auto-discovery scripts that enable these Agents to automatically discover all Oracle components and start monitoring them using a comprehensive set of metrics at Oracle-recommended thresholds.

When we have a tuning problem, we use this solution. It's incredibly useful for drawing up the SQL that's being run, identifying and resolving a problematic SQL. You can monitor performance using the various performance data which is what some employees in the companies where I work use it for. The majority of the time, I use it to aid in the detection of a performance issue.

The main usage is for monitoring performance, a major part of the software is you can define some virtualization for RAM utilization. You can set up something and then you will start getting alerts which you can do some optimizations from the information.

I was previously using it for my own personal use. I didn't need much. I was using it to connect a database. I connected the database, and then the Linux host. I also wanted to test various remote hosts. Unfortunately, since I was installing on a machine that didn't have enough resources, I was not able to connect it to deploy those agents. For me to have done that, I needed a platform that had adequate resources like RAM and storage. After installing it, it just consumed everything that I had. I only have 16GB RAM. It was not enough for me to try others. I was basically using it to test how it would be able to run. I managed to run it by deploying the database that I was using it to run the EM. That is the only thing that I managed to acquire.

Enterprise Manager is a single window plane of glass which allows one to look into every aspect of the systems deployed in an organization. We use it to mange our internal infrastructure, including Oracle Exadata, Oracle Exalytics, Oracle VMs, ERP solutions (such as Oracle Applications and Fusion Middleware, like SOA and AIA), and Oracle Linux servers.

We use Oracle Enterprise Manager primarily for database management, with a focus on performance monitoring. Our environments are composed of both standalone and cluster databases which, in turn, are deployed in Oracle appliances like ODA and Exadata, as well as others hardware vendors. In addition, we use the tool to create, configure and manage high-availability environments using Oracle Data Guard and Real Application Clusters, automation of manual activities and patching.
