Hi Dermont,

Thanks for sharing this information. With what you have shared, I think I\'m really interested to give Truview a try and see what I\'m missing with SW.

Hi Francis,

To be frank the unit is costly when evaluated against SW products which to their credit are relatively inexpensive. The NCM and IPAM modules do a certain but limited amount and with the Netflow module the SW environment is pretty capable. However when you see what the Truview can do versus SW its of no comparison the Truview gives you so much more. The application performance management features alone on the Truview are excellent and help to give great visibility to us in terms of site client vs site performance along with providing measurable metrics for monitoring service levels across the network. The netflow analysis on SW doesn\'t compare in the slightest to the truview.

Hi Dermot,

Thanks for the reply. It is really helpful for me in deciding the future of our network monitoring system.

Another question though, this time on cost. Compared with SW, is Truview more expensive? You may just base it on SW NCM and IPAM modules for the comparison. Though if possible, please also include Truview\'s cost comparison with SW\'s netflow traffic analysis.

Truview is an integrated product that includes packet monitoring and packet storage technology, IPFIX (Internet Protocol Flow Information Export), sFlow, jflow, cflowD and SNMP, all in a single package.

This product has all the necessary capabilities for effectively monitoring and troubleshooting large networks.

The only drawback of this product is its high cost which should be taken into consideration by Fluke Networks.
