JIRA is great, but it can be overwhelming for new hires. It\'s also overkill for smaller operations. We used it for 2+ years before finally understanding we weren\'t using it to it\'s full potential... But it is great.

So far Jira(on-deman) has worked out fairly well at a very nice price point per user. Granted it\'s not going to blow the socks off your PMP\'s or Blackbelts but it operates smoothly and efficiently in small to medium sized complexity projects, covers bug tracking with little effort and keeps everyone engaged.

To be frank, Microsoft\'s TFS is starting to embrace open source and provides a solid base platform to manage the ALM world.

Guess it depends on how you view the world, if you go at it form a Microsoft or an Atlassian viewpoint.

Again, you can integrate TFS with just about everything you need out there using ConnectALL - https://www.go2group.com/connectall/ Such as Atlassian\'s JIRA, SeaPine, Rally, VersionOne, Remedy, HEAT, DOORS & IBM RUP, HP QC ALM, salesforce, Atlassian\'s Confluence, etc.
